Kavenagh's Dream Realized
Friday, 28 September 2012 11:03
Tucked away in the northeast corner of Greene County, in Ross Township, are 76 acres being put to a very special use – a wildlife farm for the preservation of land and wildlife. The wildlife farm was the dream of Eugene Kavanagh and his wife Dorothy. The Kavanaghs were career educators and owned several farms in Clark and Greene Counties. They wanted a place where adults and children could learn about crops, trees and wildlife indigenous to the area so they purchased the acreage in December 2010 and put in motion a long-range plan for the farm. You can read more about the mission in the Fall 2011 edition of the Tecumseh Land Trust newsletter at tecumsehlandtrust.org.
