Mail Survey About Community Health to Begin In Greene County

Conducted by Growing Healthy Together Greene County

This week the 2019 Greene County Community Health Assessment of Greene County residents will begin. Greene County Public Health contracted with the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio and researchers at the University of Toledo to conduct the survey. Over the next two months, more than 1,500 Greene County residents will be randomly selected to participate in a health survey. Residents of Greene County who are randomly selected are urged to complete and return the survey.

The survey was developed with input from many partner agencies in Greene County. Together, the partners are known as the Growing Healthy Together Greene County committee. The committee selected questions regarding existing health conditions, health behaviors and significant barriers that may exist to achieving wellness. The anonymous survey asks participants to answer questions about general health, risk and protective health factors, and access to health care. These answers will create a snapshot of the health of Greene County residents. The results will guide many public and private agencies in their program planning over the next several years by identifying key health problems. The final community health assessment report will be published in the spring of 2020 at which time the results will be used to prioritize needs and create a community health improvement plan.

Growing Healthy Together Greene County is composed of many public and private agencies that make up the public health system. The partners include: Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce, Beavercreek Township Board of Trustees, Central State University, City of Xenia, Clark State Community College, Council on Rural Services, Dayton Children's Hospital, Fairborn Municipal Court, Family and Children First Council, Greene CATS Public Transit, Greene County Board of County Commissioners, Greene County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Greene County Council on Aging, Greene County Department of Job and Family Services, Greene County Drug-Free Coalition, Greene County Educational Service Center, Greene County Emergency Management Agency, Greene County Housing Authority, Greene County Parks & Trails, Greene County Public Health, Greene Memorial Hospital & Soin Medical Center, Layh & Associates, Inc., Mental Health & Recovery Board of Clark, Greene & Madison Counties, Ohio State University Extension Office, TCN Behavioral Health Services, United Way of the Greater Dayton Area, and the Village of Yellow Springs.
